Jane and Kyle’s Wedding at Millwright’s Restaurant Simsbury CT Wedding DJ
Jane and Kyle were one of our Foodie couples. They were all about the experience with Milwright’s amazing food and chef and their guests. They wanted the music to set the tone, but their concern was not about people dancing. When I drove out to Natick MA to meet with them to talk details about their wedding at Millwright’s Restaurant in Simsbury CT, it was clear that they had more interest in what their wedding wasn’t going to have. There were no introductions, parent dances, first dance, or cake cutting. Other than a few toasts during dinner, they wanted things pretty low-key and not cliche wedding in any way including the background music for cocktails and dinner.
Millwright is a very broken-up facility – cocktails were to be held out on the covered bridge, dinner in the main dining room, and dancing downstairs near the bar and fireplace. That meant, three separate sound systems needed to be set up that day.
Once we transitioned people out of the dining room and down to the dance area, Jane and Kyle were just stunned that everyone was anxious to get on the dance floor. The floor was packed for 2 hours straight and they had less than 80 guests.

“Rob is absolutely fantastic. My husband and I were looking for a particular fit- we hosted a food-centric wedding where we had a dance floor but dancing was not the focus. A few DJs we interviewed were weird and judgy about this, but not Rob. He got our vision immediately! He was extremely communicative, and even went down to our venue in Connecticut to check out the space a few months before. We were worried that since we were hosting our wedding at a restaurant that had a divided up space, that the flow of the evening would feel awkward. Rob completely put this worry to rest and more than delivered on the day. I would recommend Rob 1000 x over to anyone looking for a wedding DJ.
